Beautiful looking but lots of problems

I ordered this sofa to be my bed in my small Manhattan studio apartment. I was excited for it to come as it is beautiful looking and I thought that it would be perfect for my apartment. Although the site said "some assembly required" when the boxes were delivered the entire sofa was in pieces. I am a very small person and I knew that it would take me quite a while to put it together by myself. To make matters worse, there were no instructions whatsoever. [...] I was extremely disappointed and will not order through them again.

Once assembled, good value

This comes in 2 very heavy boxes - the sofa/bed in one box and the base box and side ends/cushions in another box. The sofa is long and may take up more space than you envisaged.
The instructions are very poor. If you are used to self assembly then you can compensate. It was not clear which way the sofa should be screwed to the base. The only way to work it out is to find the zips on the bottom of the sofa that contain the support legs for when the bed is down - the zipped part goes at the back of the base box.
Once assembled (easier with 2 people), the sofa is very firm to sit on and not very comfortable. But, when you lie on it, it is very comfortable. Throw on a few cushions and the seating gets more comfortable. Assembly took me about 2 hours.
The packaging is not very good and as the box is thrown around in transit (owing to the weight), you may find some slight damage. Some light marks were on the material and the 4 legs were damaged a little although these are largely out of sight.
Having said all this, given the price, this is very good value. It is very solid, the bed mechanism works well and it does look good (I live in a Manhattan studio and it blends in perfectly).

It took my husband and I one full hour to assembly it with an electric screw driver. It took us another hour to rearrange the living room though. I think the assemble was easy, but it is pretty heavy (too difficult for one person to do the job). I got it with a good discount. It is firm and comfortable to sleep on when it is in a sofa position. However, it is not so good to sleep on the other side when it's in the bed position. It is lacking the leg that it mentions in the guide. Overall, I am happy with the price and what I got.
